From Pacing Guide to Lesson Plan in 20 Minutes

Presenter: ASMSA
Description: The hardest part of lesson planning isn't knowing what to teach — it's translating a pacing guide into a daily plan that actually works for the students sitting in front of you. This session is about collapsing that process from hours to minutes.
Participants will work through a real curriculum planning workflow using AI as a co-designer. Starting with a standard or pacing guide entry, they will generate a full unit overview, essential questions, daily lesson outlines, differentiated materials for multiple learner levels, and a bank of bell ringers and hooks — all within the session.
We tackle the questions that teachers always ask: What do I actually paste in? How do I make it match my students? What do I do when it sounds too generic? The answer to all three is the same — you talk to it like a colleague, give it context, and iterate. This session gives you the reps to make that feel natural.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a real unit they are planning so they can leave with actual usable materials, not just examples. This is a working session, not a lecture.
Participants will leave with:
- A complete AI-assisted lesson plan draft for an actual upcoming unit
- A reusable planning workflow they can repeat independently
- Differentiated versions of at least one lesson component at multiple learner levels
- A collection of bell ringers and hooks for their unit ready to use
- Strategies for making AI-generated content feel like their own voice
