Description: This class will focus on equipping elementary educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct safe and effective STEM experiments that align with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for K-4 students. Participants will learn to seamlessly integrate the advanced video and photographic capabilities of the iPad Pro into their teaching methodologies, enhancing the documentation and analysis of experimental data. The topics to be covered include an overview of NGSS-aligned safe experiment practices, hands-on demonstrations of STEM experiments suitable for young learners, and practical sessions on utilizing iPad Pro features such as burst photos, slow-motion videos, and time-lapse recordings to capture dynamic experimental outcomes. This class is particularly relevant to the conference theme of STEM as it addresses the critical need for incorporating technology into STEM education to make learning more engaging and accessible for elementary students. By the end of the class, educators will be better prepared to foster a stimulating STEM learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a hands-on approach to scientific inquiry.
