Description: Artificial intelligence, social media, brain development, and rapidly evolving digital platforms are reshaping the online environments where students learn, communicate, and socialize. As educators and parents, we need to understand both the good and the bad to protect our children. We will explore how child and adolescent brain development influences online behavior and risk-taking, while examining emerging threats, including dangerous apps, AI deepfakes, AI companion bots, gaming risks, cell phone settings, and sextortion. AI is here and can help us do amazing things. We will be diving into how to support our children and help them navigate the many dangers facing them in our digital world. We will discuss brain research and court cases specific to keeping our kids safe online.
