1016 – Creating Wow-Worthy Learning Experiences with Tech: The Classroom Transformation Lab

Presenter: Janice Edgar
Class Size: 20
Price: – $585, Includes 14” Lenovo Touch Screen Chromebook
Description: This session will focus on helping teachers design powerful, standards-based learning experiences through immersive simulations and technology-rich classroom transformations. This extended workshop gives participants the time and support to build their own classroom experiences step by step.
Teachers will dive into a series of classroom-tested learning labs, including:
Zombie Virus Outbreak Lab — Students analyze data, build graphs, track infection curves, and use basic coding to design a cure simulation.
Dinosaur Extinction Investigation — Students use digital simulations and virtual field research to uncover how environmental changes impacted Earth’s systems.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Weather Lab — Students investigate weather patterns, collect and graph meteorological data, design weather forecasts, and model extreme weather scenarios using real-world data tools.
Super Mario Literacy Lab — Students travel through reading and writing worlds, complete leveled reading quests, unlock vocabulary power-ups, and write creative stories tied to classic and modern Mario adventures.
Decades Discovery Lab (1950s–Today) — Students explore history through themed decades, analyzing culture, inventions, music, fashion, and technology while creating digital timelines, interactive exhibits, and multimedia presentations.
Participants will learn how to transform subject matter into unforgettable learning adventures using Google tools, AI, digital design platforms, QR codes, AR, multimedia resources, and learning management systems. Teachers will design digital missions, data investigations, coding challenges, interactive notebooks, and project-based experiences they can immediately use in their classrooms.
This is a true learning lab — not just a presentation. Teachers will create, test, and refine their own classroom transformation during the session.
